Jason Clark - President

General Manager, Delta Prince Edward Hotel, Charlottetown, PEI

Jason has come full circle returning to the Delta Prince Edward after working at this hotel during the early part of his career. He has held progressive roles throughout his career in different Canadian markets. Director of Operations at Prince Edward Tours, Director of Operations and then General Manager at Best Western Village Park Inn in Calgary, Director of Operations at Delta Bow Valley, Hotel Manager at Deerfoot Inn and Casino and in 2015 he returned to the Delta Bow Valley as their Hotel Manager. In 2016, during the transition to the Marriott brand, he became the General Manager of Delta Hotels by Marriott Calgary Downtown. Jason loves spending time outdoors camping, kayaking, cycling and bird watching and feels there is no better place than PEI for all of his favorite things.

Louise Arsenault - Vice President

General Manager, Mill River Experience, O’Leary, PEI

Louise has been in hospitality for many years. She was a General Manager for Rodd Hotels and Resorts for almost 16 years and now is General Manager of the 4-star rated Mill River Resort in Oleary, PEI. Louise’s knowledge, experience, and passion for the industry brings a true value to the M&C PEI Board of Directors.

Susan Ching - Treasurer

Senior Accountant, Harbourside Group of Companies, Charlottetown, PEI

An extremely proud Islander, Susan has worked in accounting and finance for 25+ years and the tourism industry, in some form or shape, has been an integral part of her career. Susan’s work experience includes Corporate Controller of Rodd Hotels and Resorts, Interim Chief Financial Officer at the Confederation Centre of the Arts, Director of Finance & Administration with the Charlottetown Airport Authority. She is currently Senior Accountant with Harbourside Engineering Consultants, one of the largest independently owned structural engineering firms in Atlantic Canada. In addition, Susan is a ‘volunteer’ bookkeeper for her family’s potato farming business in Eastern PEI and also volunteers on the Finance and Audit Committee for the Community Foundation of PEI.

John Cudmore - Secretary

General Manager of The Holman Grand Hotel, Charlottetown, PEI

John Cudmore is a native Islander who has been involved with The Holman Grand Hotel since opening the modern boutique hotel in 2011. Prior to The Holman Grand Hotel, John spent many years managing hotels and resorts for a leading regional hotel chain, serving as President and Chief Operating Officer.

John is a respected figure in the tourism sector. He has given his time and experience generously in mentoring employees in the industry and in assuming leadership roles on a voluntary basis with the boards of such key industry organizations such as: the Canadian Tourism Commission, Capital City Events, Meetings and Conventions PEI, Charlottetown Special Events Reserve Fund, and others.

Craig MacMillan - Director

Manager/ Operating Partner at Sims Corner Steakhouse and Oyster Bar, Murphy Hospitality Group Charlottetown, PEI

In the fall of 2005 local restaurateur Kevin Murphy purchased the building and began the process of renovating to create what you are experiencing today.  After opening its door in 2007, Sims Corner Steakhouse & Oyster Bar has come to be known as the place to enjoy yourself. Bring a date, unwind with friends or enjoy a few drinks at the bar. Philosophy “great steaks, big wine and PEI hospitality come together to create the ultimate dining experience.”

Steve Arnold - Director

Owner of Canada’s Rotating House, North Rustico, PEI

Halifax-born entrepreneur, Steve Arnold, is the owner of Canada’s Rotating House and Ride Solar. Steve and his family live in North Rustico upstairs in the rotating house with a view over the ocean. Steve became a board member of M&C PEI in May of 2016.

JJ Chaisson - Director

Owner, The Fiddling Fisherman, Souris, PEI

Prince Edward Island’s J.J. Chaisson is without any doubt a talented multi-instrumental musician. His business; The Fiddling Fisherman offers fishing boat ceilidhs surrounded by the sea, red cliffs, great music, step dancing, set dancing, yummy eats, and the best people you’ll ever meet.

Barry Nicholson - Director

Owner of New Glasgow Lobster Suppers, New Glasgow, PEI

Barry Nicholson is VP Operations/owner of New Glasgow Lobster Suppers. New Glasgow Lobster Suppers, located in New Glasgow PEI, is a local favourite and tourism icon. Barry also sits on the board of TIAPEI, and volunteers at the New Glasgow Fire Dept where he’s been a firemen for over 30 years.

Chantal Delaney - Director

Client Services Manager, Credit Union Place / Veteran’s Convention Centre, Summerside, PEI

Chantal Delaney is our newest board member and represents Summerside. As Client Services Manager at Credit Union Place/Veteran’s Convention Centre, Chantal takes care of all meetings & conventions business and was awarded in 2019 the Innovation PEI Employee of the Year award.

Ben Parsons - Director

Jared Murphy - Director

Co-Owner & CEO, Lone Oak Brewing Co., PEI

Experienced as a business professional, Jared is responsible for overseeing the operations of Lone Oak Brewing Company and works to develop quality business strategies to ensure the organization is reaching its desired results. His professional experience includes organizing events, managing social media accounts, working with the local media, and creating content for websites. He contributes his time working in small businesses as a key learning experience in finance, marketing, human resources and sales. Jared has a high energy and motivated personality and looks forward to sharing his skills and expertise with the Meetings & Conventions PEI team and Board of Directors.

 

Wayne Long - Observer

Manager of Economic Growth and Attraction, City of Charlottetown, PEI

Wayne Long is the Manager of Economic Growth and Attraction for the City of Charlottetown. He is passionate about PEI’s capital city and has spent the last 28 years positioning Charlottetown as a leading tourism destination. He strongly believes in the power of sport, entertainment, festivals, and business meetings to help drive economic growth and tourism prosperity in the Atlantic region and thrives on maintaining strategic relationships across the country. Wayne’s ability to build and lead teams is matched only by his love for managing projects of all sizes, including Charlottetown’s national award-winning SCORE sport tourism initiative. In 2009, he was the recipient of Sport Tourism Canada’s PRESTIGE award for Industry Builder of the Year and was recognized by his alma mater, Loyalist College, with an Alumni Distinction Award in 2010 for excellence in his chosen profession. Wayne was the 2022 Event Atlantic Excellence Awards Champion of the Year. As a life-long learner, achiever and dreamer, Wayne is driven to help make Charlottetown the best it can be.
