Air Canada is the only international network carrier in North America to receive a Four-Star ranking according to independent U.K. research firm Skytrax. In 2014, Air Canada was ranked for a fifth consecutive year “Best Airline in North America” in a worldwide survey of more than 18 million airline passengers conducted by Skytrax. According to the 2013 Canadian Business Travel Survey conducted by Ipsos Reid, Air Canada was the preferred airline for more than 80 percent of frequent business travellers in Canada.
Air Canada’s new leisure airline, Air Canada rouge, (aircanada.com/rouge) serves popular holiday destinations in Europe, the Caribbean and Central America and is expanding to a total of 10 European destinations for the summer 2014 season. New Caribbean, Mexico, Florida and Las Vegas routes were also launched during the 2013-2014 winter season.
In 2014, Air Canada’s international network is expanding to four new European destinations. Air Canada is introducing year-round service between Toronto and Milan, while Air Canada rouge will inaugurate year-round flights between Toronto and Lisbon as well as Manchester, and between Montreal and Nice. Non-stop Toronto-Istanbul service increases to daily flights this summer. Non-stop flights to Barcelona will also be available from Toronto and Montreal on Air Canada rouge. In July, Air Canada will inaugurate daily flights between Toronto and Tokyo-Haneda with Boeing 787 Dreamliners. In December 2014 Air Canada will start service to Rio de Janeiro with three flights a week.
