Ice cream from an old-fashioned Prince Edward Island family recipe has been combined with a wide assortment of clothing and fun products to become the COWS store of today. COWS is an Island company that grew from one COWS Ice Cream store in 1983 to 10 present day locations. While COWS continues to be best known for Super Premium high quality ice cream and whimsical T-Shirts, they have also expanded to other products including premium chocolates and award winning cheeses.Clothing sales now represent a major component of the business, however, it is our super-premium ice cream that continues to drive the store’s success and keeps customers coming back for more!

COWS is famous for fun original T-shirts and super-premium ice cream, made on Prince Edward Island. Only the finest ingredients are used to produce popular ice-cream flavours. A couple of years after launching the first ice cream store in Cavendish, a retail line of clothing was added. All of the clothing items feature many of the popular T-shirt designs. Plus you will also find lots of fun, whimsical cow items that will look charming in your home, office or school.  Voted Canada’s Best Ice Cream in 2006 by Reader’s Digest, and recently named #1 on the world’s top ten places for ice cream as determined by Tauck World Discoveries.

A 30 minute guided tour tells the story of this company beginning in the Milky Whey Theatre and ending in the sample room for a taste of COWS Ice Cream, COWS Extra Old Cheddar, and COWS CHIPS. Tours are offered May-Oct and year round to groups.
