Experience Evangeline and the Acadian culture of this beautiful Region of Prince Edward Island.
The unique culture of the approximately 20,000 descendants of the original French settlers has survived in the mid-west area of Prince Edward Island. On our tour we will drive through an area of well-kept houses, farms and fishing ports that display a distinctive Acadian character.
We will begin in Miscouche, the gateway to the Island’s Acadian region, where the Acadian Museum will introduce us to the history and culture through video and gallery displays. Learn the relationship between the Cajuns and the Acadians.
We will proceed to Mont Carmel and visit the Bottle House, an amazing and inspiring collection of structures built with recycled glass bottles. The beauty, peacefulness and serenity of the gardens in this tranquil idyllic spot, the smell of the many flowers, the pond, folk art and the chapel make for a joyous and grateful heart.
Lunch will be at the Acadian Musical Village. The menu will be traditional Acadian cuisine accompanied by Acadian story-telling and energetic music.
After lunch we make our way back to Charlottetown.
$420 for groups of one to six; $630 for groups of seven to eleven.
Admissions and lunch are not included.
