Harmony House Theatre
Named 2014 ECMA Venue of the Year and 2010 and 2015 Music PEI Venue of the Year, Harmony House is centrally located on the main highway in Hunter River, PEI. Starting in 2007, owners Kris & Melanie Taylor undertook extensive renovations using new and recycled materials such as vintage beams and bricks. This charming, 140-seat theatre is equipped with a professional sound & lighting system, sloped theatre-style seating, A/C, box office & concession stand. The downstairs is home to an art gallery and licensed restaurant with seating capacity of 50-70 people. An evening of great entertainment upstairs can be enhanced by gathering for a delicious, Chef-prepared meal downstairs before the show. Harmony House Theatre hosts various artists year-round and has become home to the hit production, ”The Island Summer Review”, starring comedian, Patrick Ledwell and musician, Mark Haines.
The venue boasts excellent acoustics and is equipped with a PreSonus StudioLive 16.4.2 digital sound board, wireless microphone, various high-quality wired microphones (e.g. SM58), and numerous top-notch monitors and speakers. Lighting includes a central spotlight mounted from the ceiling as well as side mounted gels in blue, red and green so that different lighting effects can be achieved. The theatre also has a large screen and projector.
Harmony House Theatre has become an integral part of the village of Hunter River and surrounding communities. Being centrally located on the main highway between Charlottetown and Summerside, the venue also draws visitors to and residents of PEI from all across the Island. The venue is ideal for a variety of functions including fundraisers, weddings, business meetings, private and corporate functions.
Artists and audiences alike enjoy their time at Harmony House because of the welcoming and “homey” atmosphere. Owners Kris and Melanie Taylor do their best to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and treats them as valued guests in their second home.
