NORTHUMBERLAND FERRIES LIMITED
Since 1941, Northumberland Ferries has been transporting passengers and their vehicles between Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. Sailing across the Northumberland Strait with fresh sea salt air and the sun sparkling off the water, it’s hard to imagine a better way to arrive on the Island. As you approach the shores of our gentle Island, you and your guests will be captivated with the picturesque scene of red-cliff shores and a crisp white lighthouse that will guide you into this little slice of paradise.
This 75-minute ferry trip runs across the Northumberland Strait between Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island and Caribou, Nova Scotia, just outside of historic Pictou. Walk or drive aboard our vessels – mv Confederation and mv Holiday Island – then relax, stretch your legs, and experience the beauty of the Maritime sea and sky.
Treat yourself to a meal or snack on board in our Salt Water Café which features a selection of locally-sourced hot and cold menu items. An outdoor seating area allows passengers to enjoy the fresh sea air during the crossing along with the best photo-ops of the coastline. Make an advance reservation for the crossing time of your choice at ferries.ca.
